On June 19th, 2024, the "Materials + Environment" Interdisciplinary Youth Forum hosted by Chang’an University was successfully held in the Second Lecture Hall of the Teachers and Students Service Center, North Campus. The forum was organized by the University’s Development Planning Office and hosted by our School.
The event invited seven young scholars from prestigious universities, including Xi’an Jiaotong University, Changsha University of Science and Technology, Tongji University, and Chang’an University, to deliver academic presentations. JIANG Wei, Director of the Development Planning Office of Chang’an University, attended the forum and delivered a speech. The forum was well attended, with over 150 faculty members and students from the School participating.
The event was chaired by WANG Zhenjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Chang’an University.
Forum Venue
Jiang Wei, Director of the Development Planning Office of Chang’an University, extended a warm welcome on behalf of the university to the young scholars, teachers, and students attending the forum. He provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s development strategy, discipline construction, scientific research activities, and other key initiatives, highlighting the landmark achievements made by the School of Materials in recent years. He emphasized that the forum was designed to serve as a high-level academic exchange platform for young scholars, aiming to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and research through scholarly discussion. He also expressed his hope that the event would inspire innovative thinking in cross-disciplinary studies, encourage the collision of diverse ideas, and foster the growth of outstanding young scientists with both a global vision and a sense of national responsibility.
The young scholars presented thematic reports on a variety of cutting-edge research topics. They also engaged in active discussions and exchanges with the attending faculty and students.
The forum closely aligned with the interdisciplinary nature of “Materials + Environment,” broadening the academic horizons of faculty and students, promoting knowledge sharing and academic exchange, and effectively advancing the university’s overarching goal of “high-quality development.” Furthermore, it strengthened the strategic focus on interdisciplinary disciplines within the School of Materials.
