On the afternoon of July 2th, Dr. Dong Su, a researcher at the Advanced Materials and Structural Analysis Laboratory of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was invited to deliver a special academic lecture titled “Electron Microscopy Characterization of Interfaces and Strains in Energy Materials”for faculty and students of the School of Materials Science and Engineering. The lecture was chaired by Professor Wang Zhenjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Materials. Over 80 faculty and students from the School attended the event.

Dr. Su shared insights from his recent research, using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to illustrate the kinetic processes of redox reactions in materials such as Fe3O4 and Sn. His presentation revealed the critical roles these materials play in lithium-ion batteries and catalysis.

Following the lecture, Dr. Su answered questions from the audience. The academic report proved highly beneficial to attendees, providing them with valuable insights into the latest research trends in materials science, inspiring greater enthusiasm for scientific research, and helping to foster a strong academic and research atmosphere on campus.
