The predecessor of the Department of new energy materials and devices is the specialty of energy and electronic materials under the specialty of inorganic non-metallic materials in Chang'an University. Since 2009, undergraduate students have been recruited. In 2019, it changed to the specialty of “new energy materials and devices” with the approval of the Ministry of education. Aiming at the strategic needs of China's new energy, new materials industry development and transportation industry upgrading, this major is oriented by industrial needs, integrates multi disciplines, cultivates students with good humanistic quality and moral quality, has solid basic knowledge of materials discipline, systematically grasps the theoretical and practical skills required by new energy materials, devices and systems, and can work in new energy, new materials, etc Senior technical personnel engaged in production, design, R & D, management and other work in the national strategic emerging industries, new energy vehicles, road network energy-saving facilities and equipment and other traffic new energy industry segments.
There are 14 full-time teachers in this major. 12 young and middle-aged teachers under 40 years old, including 4 professors and 6 associate professors. All the teachers have doctor's degrees, and 12 teachers have overseas study or visiting experience.
There are more than 600 ㎡ of teaching laboratories, such as new energy materials synthesis and technology laboratory, new energy device testing laboratory, lithium-ion battery laboratory, fuel cell laboratory, solar cell laboratory, semiconductor lighting laboratory, etc. At present, there are more than 500 sets of teaching and experimental equipment for new energy materials and devices, with total assets of more than 16 million yuan, including atomic force microscope, photoluminescence spectrometer, electroluminescence spectrometer, absorption spectrometer, solar cell IPCE test system, solar cell IV test system, electrochemical workstation, lithium battery tester, glove box, magnetron sputtering, chemical vapor deposition system and other large-scale equipment provide sufficient guarantee for the practice teaching.
This major enrolls master's degree in materials science and materials physics and chemistry, and doctor's degree in road science and engineering and mechanical engineering materials. Relying on the College Engineering Research Center of Ministry of education of transportation and pavement materials, material analysis and testing center of Chang'an University and nano materials research center of Chang'an University and other key research platforms. This major is committed to the basic research and application technology of materials in new energy and transportation industries, such as lithium-ion batteries, semiconductor lighting technology, solar cells and functional dielectric materials and devices It has formed a unique discipline characteristics. In recent years, teachers and students of this major have published more than 50 SCI papers, including more than 20 papers in Q1, and many of them have been published in 《advanced energy materials》《Journal of Materials Chemistry A》, and 《ACS Applied materials & Interfaces》.It has undertaken more than 30 representative scientific research projects such as national key R & D projects and National Natural Science Foundation projects, and obtained more than 10 invention patents.
The major actively carries out school enterprise cooperation. At present, it has jointly built practice bases with photoelectric technology company of Shaanxi electronic information group, photoelectric technology company of Shaanxi nonferrous metals group. At the same time, it has good cooperative relations with well-known foreign universities and scientific research institutions such as Japan Institute of industrial technology, Toyohashi University of technology and science, Auckland University of New Zealand and Paris 11th University of France.
After graduation, students of this major are mainly engaged in design, R & D, production, management and operation of new energy vehicles, energy storage media and devices, road network new energy and energy saving facilities, solar cells, semiconductor lighting, electronic technology and other industrial fields. The cumulative employment rate is more than 95%. The employment units are mainly energy, electronics and other high-tech enterprises, such as Samsung Semiconductor Co., Ltd., MSD (China) Investment Co., Ltd., BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd., Xinte Energy Co., Ltd., TCL multimedia, Gree Electric, Geely Automobile, Konka Group, etc.
This major focuses on the new paradigm of new engineering talents training, closely follows the national orientation of China's transportation industry upgrading to new energy vehicles, new energy of transportation network and energy-saving technology. In the future, it will take the construction of a first-class undergraduate major with distinctive characteristics as the goal, adopt a focused, hierarchical and rolling construction scheme, and comprehensively improve the quality of talents training.
