School of Materials Science and Engineering
The school of Materials Science and Engineering of Changan University has a history for more than 50 years, which is formed by the Department of Road Materials, the Department of Materials of Construction Machinery and the Department of material Science and Engineering of the School of Resources. School relies on transportation engineering, civil engineering, geological and mineral resources and other fields to carry out material science and engineering teaching and scientific research work. It is a teaching and research college with outstanding advantages and distinctive characteristics in the field of transportation engineering materials, material surface engineering, composite materials, functional materials and other fields.
The school has an engineering research center of the Ministry of Education and two collaborative innovation platforms (green & intelligent highway maintenance technology platform of the Ministry of Transport, and the platform of heavy traffic highway maintenance materials of the Ministry of Transport).
The school has 19 professors, 45 associate professors, senior professional and more than 70% of the total number of experimental personnel. At present, there are 10 doctoral supervisors and 70 master supervisors. The students have grown into technical leaders and excellent managers in transportation, equipment manufacturing and new material research and develop fields. The college pays attention to international exchanges and cooperation. It has established long-term and stable cooperation and communication relations with the scientific research institutions of Purdue University of the United States, Nanyang University of Singapore and the University of Queensland, Australia. Teachers and students are sent abroad every year to study or cooperate in further studies. Organize and host all kinds of large-scale international academic conferences every year, and send some outstanding students to the United States, Britain, Germany and other countries to study for master degree and Ph.D through inter-school exchanges. At the same time, with other key universities, scientific research institutions and industry backbone enterprises to establish cooperative relations. The students have made great achievements in various national competitions, such as Challenge Cup, Mathematical Modeling Competition, concrete Design Competition and so on. In the past three years, the college has undertaken the national science and technology support, the national science foundation, the ministerial level and the provincial science and technology department scientific research project; Professor Sha Aimin presided over the project Environmental Protection Road Construction and maintenance Technology won the second prize of national scientific and technological progress in 2014, the scientific research project presided over by Professor Chen Huaxin won the second prize of China Highway Society in 2011, 2015, the third prize of scientific and technological progress of Shaanxi Province in 2012 and the second prize of scientific and technological progress of Shaanxi Province in 2014.
We pay close attention to the national strategic needs, combine theoretical research with practice, and obtain a number of research results, which have made contributions to the development of the national economy.
