Achievements

Professor Xing holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China. During his Ph.D., he worked towards the development of plasma-sprayed yittia stabilized zirconia coating applied in both solid oxygen fuel cell and Thermal barrier coatings. His expertise lies in development of application specific engineered microstructures by optimizing the processing of thermal spray parameters.

He is currently employed as associate professor in School of Materials Science and Engineering, Chang’an University, China. He is currently engaged in the surface strengthen of materials, advanced function coatings of materials, and preparation and applications of advanced coatings in SOFC and TBCs. He was the member of High Temperature Committee of Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection, the director of Surface Engineering Branch of Shaanxi Institute of Mechanical Engineering, and the reviewer of international journals (Surface and Coatings Technology, Journal of Thermal Spray Technology, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, Rare Metal Materials and Engineering, etc.) At present, He has published more than 60 academic papers.
