Announcement on the Public Trial Operation of the Soft X-ray EBSD-EDS Joint Analysis System

The equipment purchase soft X-ray EDS-EBSD joint analysis system for the subsidized loan project of the School of Materials Science has been installed and debugged, and is currently online on the school's instrument sharing platform. It is planned to open for trial operation to teachers and students both inside and outside the school from December 16, 2024, with a trial operation period of one month. During the trial operation period, no equipment usage fee will be charged. Teachers and students are welcome to make an appointment to use it.

Soft X-ray EBSD-EDS Joint Analysis System



Equipment Introduction:


The soft X-ray EDS-EBSD combined system is an advanced surface analysis instrument.


1. Microscopic morphology images of nanoscale materials and precipitates;


2. Joint analysis of soft X-ray EDS electric cooling energy spectrometer to obtain wide range composition information of materials in the micro area;


3. Equipped with EBSD electron backscatter diffraction and micro area crystal orientation information;


4. Equipped with a cold table, it can achieve low-temperature observation of samples.


5. Equipped with rotatable multi-dimensional gold spraying equipment.


Obtaining micro area chemical binding state information through soft X-ray spectroscopy, observing and analyzing material micro area composition crystal structure chemical binding state and other multi site integration; Realize high-resolution, high sensitivity, and efficient analysis in material images, composition, and valence, achieve peak stripping ability and light element detection ability including Li, with element analysis range: Be4-U92; Various in-situ reaction stations can also be installed for in-situ research.
