On July 16, Professor Yu Qingliang, Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Building Engineering, was invited to give a lecture on writing guidance for international high-level academic papers to teachers and students of our college in the Academic Lecture Hall of the School of Materials, Zhiyuan Building, Weishui Campus. Xiao Yue, Dean of the college, and representatives of teachers and students attended the lecture.

Drawing on his experience as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Building Engineering and a member of the editorial boards of numerous other SCI journals, Professor Yu Qingliang offered a detailed explanation of SCI papers from the perspective of an editor. He elaborated on what constitutes a satisfactory paper in the eyes of reviewers and editors, covering every part from the title onwards. In particular, he emphasized that under the premise of innovation, attention should be paid to the linguistic art in paper writing. After Professor Yu's lecture, the teachers and students present actively consulted him on the problems they encountered in the process of writing and submitting papers, conducted face-to-face communication with him, and Professor Yu answered them without reservation and put forward pertinent suggestions. Finally, Dean Xiao Yue concluded that in this exchange, Professor Yu Qingliang had shared a wealth of practical insights, and he hoped that teachers and students would carefully summarize after listening and apply these skills to their future paper writing.
