On the morning of July 7, a delegation including Kim Jonathan Jenkins, a distinguished professor at Xi'an Highway Research Institute and academician of the South African Academy of Engineering, Mi Haichen, Director of the Science, Technology Innovation and Industrialization Center, Xu Xijuan, Deputy Director, Ma Qingwei, Minister of the Science and Technology R&D Department, Xu Peng, General Manager of Xi'an Huaze Road Materials Co., Ltd., and Li Yan, a senior engineer, visited our college for a symposium to deepen the integration of industry and education and promote school-enterprise cooperation. Xiao Yue, Dean of the college, Guan Bowen, Director of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Niu Dongyu and Guo Haoyan, Deputy Directors of the College's Achievement Transformation Center, and Xia Junchao, Deputy Director of the College's International Cooperation Center, attended the event. The symposium was chaired by Guan Bowen.

At the symposium, Xiao Yue extended a warm welcome to Academician Kim and his delegation. He expressed the hope that this discussion would serve as an opportunity to establish a long-term and stable cooperation and exchange mechanism, and also looked forward to further strengthening cooperation with Xi'an Highway Research Institute to set a new example for school-enterprise collaboration. Niu Dongyu introduced the college's achievements in discipline development, platform construction, school-running scale, student training and other aspects.
Academician Kim spoke highly of the achievements made by the School of Materials in scientific research, talent cultivation and other aspects, and expressed his expectation to carry out all-round cooperation in such fields as new pavement materials and technologies, and solid waste recycling materials in the future, including academic exchanges, talent training, and joint research projects. Mi Haichen said he looked forward to the establishment of a comprehensive cooperation mechanism between the two sides in the future, to jointly explore new models of school-enterprise cooperation and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and to work together to promote the development of new pavement materials and technologies in Shaanxi Province.

At the meeting, the two sides also discussed such issues as Shaanxi Province's "111" Talent Introduction Program, international cooperation and exchanges, and cutting-edge technologies in the utilization of recycled solid waste materials. This conference, through the linkage between the university and the enterprise, has provided a solid guarantee for the two sides to further strengthen school-enterprise cooperation, deepen collaborative education, and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, laying a solid foundation for the realization of strategic cooperation between the two sides.
